Title: 100-Word FF7 Drabbles Part 4 Rating: PG to R Genre: General, Yaoi Pairing: Some Reno/Rufus, most without pairings. Characters: Reno, Rufus, Tseng, Rude Disclaimer: FF7 is owned by SquareEnix. I'm not making a profit with this writing. Summary: Here's the fourth set in my FF7 drabble project. For more details about what I'm doing exactly, please see this post.
46. bounce
Reno always had a little spring in his step, a playful bounce that hinted at the extra energy he kept in reserve. From his private balcony, Rufus watched Reno move with purpose across the dance floor below.
The red-head was mixing with beautiful strangers and clearly enjoying himself. Rufus’ jaw clenched with a pang of jealousy. Reno was immune to all of the unfair rules that Rufus had to follow.
Fuck the rules, Rufus thought, idly wondering if there were any paparazzi in the crowd. He supposed he’d find out when he read the front page of the morning paper.
54. prepared
Tedious weeks of surveillance had led up to this moment. All he had to do was wait just a few minutes more, and all of his preparation would yield a pleasure so intense, so satisfying; it would all be worthwhile.
“Hey,” Reno said, casually passing Tseng in the hallway. Tseng nodded with disinterest, not meeting his gaze. Reno slowed his walk gradually, as he heard the elevator ping in the distance.
Slipping into Tseng’s office, he sat down at the desk, unwrapped his deli sandwich, and took a messy bite. He couldn’t wait to hear Tseng bitch about the crumbs.
56. pound
“It’s a gift,” Reno said.
Rufus stared at the large box in Reno’s hands, unable to comprehend why the red-head would give him a present. It’s not like they ever celebrated the holidays.
“C’mon, please take it.”
Not having a good reason to refuse, he gave in, reluctantly taking the box from his eager Turk. Rufus untied the bright red bow and cautiously lifted the lid. His icy eyes widened in disbelief, as the little black creature tangled up in tissue paper made a timid mewling sound at him.
“Reno, what the—“
“It was you or the pound, yo.”
48. breathless
“Reno, breathe,” Rude said.
Words were flooding out of the red-head’s mouth, but Rude couldn’t understand anything he was saying. Reno wasn’t normally prone to panic; in fact, he’d only ever seen his partner like this once before, during the Diamond Weapon incident.
“Rufus… he,” Reno said, still not speaking coherently. “Oh, god… he’s…”
“Focus, dammit,” Rude said, gritting his teeth. He grabbed Reno’s shoulders, shaking him gently.
“Call a medic,” Reno finally gasped.
Rude released his hold and flipped open his cell phone, speed-dialing emergency services. The details could wait until he had a live person on the line.
05. fondue
Reno stood next to the banquet table, looking at the hors d’oeuvres. Rufus warned him not to touch anything, but when he saw the fondue, he couldn’t help himself. He poked his finger into the melted chocolate, then into his mouth, enjoying the blissful taste sensation that assaulted his tongue.
“My turn…”
Rufus pressed up against him from behind, one hand slipping down to unbutton Reno’s pants, the other guiding the Turk’s saliva-slicked finger back into the chocolate. Rufus devoured Reno’s finger, sucking and licking with fervent attention, teasing him with the silent promise of what the future might hold.
